Palteca is a play on words. One of the first phrases most Spanish learners learn in a traditional classroom is:

“¿Dónde está la biblioteca?“

Biblioteca means library, and the suffix ‘teca’ (like discoteca or filmoteca) means ‘the place where something is kept’. The first part of Palteca, is ‘Pal’, which is a play on the Spanish word for ‘Palabra‘ (word), but also for the word ‘Pal’ in English.

So putting it altogether, Palteca means the place where words and friends are kept.
